You will have the most physical energy and mental clarity at your dosha's hour.
Pittas have medium builds, are intense, have a strong drive, healthy appetites, are very intelligent, competitive and have self-control. When in balance, they are joyful, creative, organized, precise, have a sharp intellect and articulate speech. When imbalanced, they can be overly demanding, impatient, prone to perfectionism, critical, sarcastic, angry and irritable.
Pitta Weight Control Therapies:
General Pitta Recommendations: Avoid extreme heat, oil, or steam. Limit salty foods. Pitta needs relaxation, beauty, and recreation. Consider participation in competitive sports.
Color Therapy: indigo blue, emerald, pastels. Avoid orange, black, yellow.
You will benefit from incorporating these colors into your clothing and home decor. A simpler, less expensive way is to use a pillow, scarf or rug and focus on it during meditation.
Meditation Mantras: Hoom for positive energy. Let go of hostility, anger, judgment of self. Om for energy, clarity. Shreem for peace.
If reciting mantras does not feel natural to you, try meditating on the english word (or whatever your native language is). Silence is always appropriate during meditation.
Massage: 10 minute dry massage every morning with silk (use a silk glove or make a mit with a peice of cloth).
Food: Limit sour fruits (lemon), salty foods, fried or fermented foods, onions and garlic. Eat bitter foods (leafy greens), sweet (yogurt, honey) and astringent foods (broccoli, melons, peaches, pomegranates). Don't combine fruit with other foods. Choose apples, pears, berries, grapes, oranges, pineapple, plums and watermelon. For vegetables, choose squash, artichoke, asparagus, broccoli, cucumber, fresh corn. For grains, try barley, rice, oats. Eat meals with thanks. See General Guidelines and the Eating Plan for more information.
